Lindy Dowe

Holistic Counsellor, Psychotherapist and Physiotherapist

Lindy Dowe Counselling and Psychotherapy Southern Highlands

I am a Holistic Counsellor and Psychotherapist as well as a qualified Physiotherapist. I have acquired a diverse yet focused set of professional skills and accumulated experiences since obtaining my Bachelor Applied Science (Physiotherapy) in 1987. My clinical experience includes extensive work with children and their families at Sydney Children’s Hospital, Westmead Children’s Hospital, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and in the Northern Territory. Throughout the last 10 years I have worked in an early intervention setting in the Southern Highlands  both as a children’s physiotherapist, counsellor and parent group facilitator. I am also an accredited facilitator of Parents as Case Coordinator workshops, and certified to provide Stepping Stones Triple P sessions and seminars.

Through my face to face contact with clients and their families facing challenges with movement, body symptoms and disabilities, it has become evident to me that a more embracing approach was required to address often deep seeded issues. Through combining a grounded counselling and psychotherapy approach (Post.Grad. Holistic Counselling and Psychotherapy) with my academic and frontline experience, I work with select groups of clients to achieve resolution of their particular issues in a holistic manner. Understanding that our physical health is intimately connected with our mental, emotional and spiritual health, I am committed to empowering my clients with the skills, insights and fresh perspectives to actively contribute to their own healing.

I am a registered physiotherapist and counsellor and psychotherapist. I am a member of  the Australian Physiotherapy Association (MAPA) and Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) intern.
